As of February 1988, the Helen Wilson murder investigation was in need of a fresh set of eyes – like a psychic, perhaps?
By 1988, more than a hundred potential suspects had been interviewed, examined and excluded. Mostly these were southeastern Nebraska residents, but some were out of state serial rapists from the likes of Kansas and Colorado as well.
Widow Helen Wilson, age 68, was brutally raped and then found murdered in her living room in 1985.
It didn’t matter. Wherever the Beatrice Police Department seemed to go looking, inevitably, the lead detectives smacked into a brick wall.
The mystery rapist-murderer of Feb. 5-6, 1985 got away with his deep, dark secret, baffling the authorities for three full years. No arrest was imminent.
Helen Wilson was considered extremely gentle and kind. She was brutally raped and found slain in her apartment in Beatrice, Nebraska in 1985.
Figuring he had nothing left to lose, Beatrice detective Sam Stevens placed a phone call to Denver, Colorado. He enlisted the services of psychic who worked with her husband to help various police departments solve violent crimes.
The detective and the psychic spoke on the phone. She sought permission to review a number of crime scene clues including the murder victim’s clothing. The psychic thought that having an opportunity to see and smell the victim’s clothing might help her conjure up a vision as to how this horrendous crime transpired and who was the culprit.
This photo caught the eye of Colorado psychic Dar Emme in her quest to help the Beatrice Police Department solve the Helen Wilson cold-case murder.
Many months passed.
Finally, the psychic, Dar Emme, did a lengthy phone interview with Beatrice Detective Sam Stevens. The opportunity to let her review a number of the crime scene clues, plus some of the victim’s jewelry, had a profound impact.
The psychic was confident that she knew the motive of the crime, the number of people who were involved and the first name of one of the perpetrators.
