Dennis Flynn retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department after 30 years. Following his assignment in patrol, Dennis spent the majority of his career working in undercover and investigative assignments. During his tenure with the Department, he promoted several times; first to Detective, then Sergeant, and eventually to Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant he worked a variety of assignments including as the Swing Shift Commander for the Las Vegas Strip. His final assignment was the commander of the Robbery Section, charged with investigating all armed robberies and kidnappings in the Las Vegas area as well as supervising the Bank Robbery and Federal Safe Street Task Force squads. For over 18 years of his career, Dennis was a member of the agency’s Crisis Negotiation Team, including 10 years serving as the Team Leader. During his time as a negotiator, Dennis responded to over 1,000 hostage situations, armed barricaded subjects, and suicidal individuals. He has traveled throughout the United States and Canada providing training on the subject. He retired in 2015 and still resides in the Las Vegas area with his wife and three sons.
